Seminar of Hope

Suggestions and tips for running your own Seminar of Hope
Below are some tips and suggestions on using the EWTN 12-episode video series "How to Pray for Your Sons & Daughters & Loved Ones" to run a Seminar of Hope in your parish, with a small group, or on your own. Feel free to contact Vernon directly with any questions.
Parish programs
-
Promote this as a parish program (in-person or virtual) over six weeks
-
Allow time for break-out group discussion after each video (might require some facilitation)
-
Close with a time of prayer
-
This might take about 1.5 to 2 hours
-
This could also be run as a retreat weekend, covering 4 talks on Friday night, 4 talks on Saturday morning, and 4 talks on Saturday afternoon.
Small groups
-
Invite other friends or acquaintances to join you at home or church (6 to 12 is ideal)
-
Include time for a light snack or coffee/tea
-
Meet weekly for six weeks
-
Cover two video talks with time for discussion
-
Close with a time of prayer
-
This might take about 1.5 hours
Self-directed
-
Work through the video talks at your own pace
-
Reflect and pray for 5 to 10 minutes after each talk
-
You might ask the Lord to show you what He desires you to see or understand?
-
This might take about 35 to 40 minutes per video talk
